Obituary of Duane E. "Dewey" Williams
Duane E. “Dewey” Williams, 79, of Titusville, passed away Saturday morning October 28, 2017 at St. Vincent Health Center in Erie.
Dewey was born on August 10, 1938 in Titusville, a son of the late Delmar and Neva Dailey Williams. He was married to Patricia McNulty on April 28, 1979 in Titusville.
He was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1956 and had attended various banking schools including Bucknell University.
He was last employed by the former Integra Bank in Titusville as vice president from where he retired.
Dewey was a member of the Immaculate Conception Church at Mageetown.
He was former treasurer of the Oil Creek Beagle Club; a member of the Rainbow Archery Club in Franklin; and a member of the Colonel Drake Archery Club. He was an avid outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Dewey had also taught banking at AIB (American Institute of Banking) in Oil City at the Venango Campus of Clarion University.
Dewey is survived by his wife of Titusville; two sons, Patrick S. Williams and wife Kim of Cresswell, OR and Todd A. Williams and wife Erin of Maple Valley, WA; 13 grandchildren; 3 great grandchildren; three step-sons, Martin Sopher and wife Gloria of Lima, OH, Patrick Sopher and wife Linda of Pittsburgh, and Phillip Sopher and wife Angela of Strattanville; two sisters, Virgina Parker of Centerville and Betty Vasbinder and husband John of Pleasantville; three sisters-in-law, Barbara Williams of Morehead City, NC, Twila Williams of Pleasantville, and Mary Williams of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-daughter, Kebbie Wishnock; and four brothers, Kenneth, Pat, Robert, and Norman Williams.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Thursday from 6:00 to 8:00 PM. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10:00 AM at Immaculate Conception Church at Mageetown, with Father John Detisch officiating.
Interment will be in Immaculate Conception Cemetery.
