Obituary of James A. Mallory
Mr. James A. Mallory, Sr. 83, of 35000 Center Road Centerville, passed away at his residence on Wednesday, November 01, 2017 at 10:00 AM after a brief illness surrounded by his loving family.
James was born on December 16, 1933 in Titusville to the late Arthur and Virginia Baney Mallory. He married Evelyn I. Proper on September 19, 1953 in Troy Center.
He attended Titusville Schools.
For over 54 years he and his son owned and operated Mallory Auto Sales in Townville.
He was an avid NASCAR fan and his favorite driver was always Vern Dilley. James enjoyed going to casinos and to flea markets where he earned the nick name the “handle man”. He loved being with his family and friends.
James is survived by his wife Evelyn of Centerville; three daughters, Bonnie Britton and husband Bill, Joyce Mallory and companion James Raybuck, and Lori Ward all from Townville; a son James A. Mallory, Jr. of Centerville; five grandchildren, Andrew Ward and wife Amber, Stephanie Ward, Dr. Garrett Britton and wife Amber, Meghan Purcell and husband Brian, and James A. Mallory III; two great grandchildren, Colton and James; and one sister Linda Mallory of Florida.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother Duane Mallory and a sister Diane Sharnborg.
No calling hours will be observed. Services will be private.
