Obituary of Donald A Ford

Mr. Donald A. Ford, 84, of Titusville, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017 at Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.

               He was born in Titusville on February 23, 1933 to the late Charles and Geraldine Bodine Ford Proper.

               Donald was a 1951 graduate of Titusville High School.

               He also attended California State Teachers College.

               Donald was a veteran having served in the United States Army.  He entered the service on March 26, 1953, at Pittsburgh and was assigned to the 714th TB ROS & DE (RWY).  He was honorably discharged March 25, 1955 at Fort Eustis, VA.  He was transferred to the US Army Reserves until his final discharge on May 2, 1961 at Indiantown Gap Military Reservation with rank of corporal.  He was awarded the good conduct medal and national defense service medal.

               He married Janice J. Decker, July 1, 1961.  She preceded him in death on March 2, 1998.  He then married N. Frances Hamrick on September 4, 1999. 

               Donald was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church.

               He served on the Zoning Hearing Board in Titusville.

               Donald enjoyed doing genealogy work.

               He was retired from Grand Valley Manufacturing.

               Donald is survived by his wife, Frances of Titusville; a daughter, Lori Brown and husband Scott of Titusville; grandson, Kegan Brown of Titusville; and a cousin, Carol Cauvel and husband Phil of Titusville.

               In addition to his parents and first wife, he was preceded in death by his step father, Isaiah Proper.

               Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington Street, Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday, November 24, 2017 from 12 noon to 2 PM, at which time the funeral will be held with Rev. Timothy Maybray officiating.

               Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery, Centerville.
