Obituary of Mildred Melissa Drake
Mildred Drake, 102, of Titusville passed away on Saturday, December 9, 2017 at Titusville Healthcare & Rehabilitation Center. She passed five hours before her 103rd birthday!
She was born in Franklin on December 10, 1914 to the late James and Sadie Rosenberg.
Mildred was married to Harold Drake. He preceded her in death on November 25, 1971.
She was a founder and member of the Faith Temple Tabernacle.
Mildred owned and operated Drake’s Bakery in Hydetown, they were known for their cookies and pies. You could always find Mildred sitting on her porch with her famous apple pie. She also worked for the Titusville YWCA for over twenty years.
She loved the Lord, and prided herself on being put on this Earth to be a giver and not a taker. She donated land to the Hydetown Fire Department. She was dedicated to her family and friends and was a true prayer warrior.
Mildred is survived by a son in law, Richard Alcorn of Conroe, TX; five grandchildren, Bruce Keys of Titusville, Robert Keys of Flagstaff, AZ, Kathleen Choat and husband Johnny of Owensville, MO, Jessica Gullberg and husband Steve of Eureka, MO, and Ray Alcorn and wife Marrian of Conroe, TX; nine great grandchildren, Shannon Wilson and husband Jason, Brandie Carnes, Amber Plaster and husband Will, Tenesha Keys, Melissa Yetkin, Tonya Blodgett, Gregg Gullberg, James Patrick Alcorn, and Madisson Alcorn; and ten great-great grandchildren, Jaylee, Jaxsen, Paris, Portia, Logan, Shawn, Matthew, Annie, Erica, and Kamila.
She was preceded in death by two daughters, Bonita Keys and Dolores Alcorn; a son in law, Bruce Keys, Sr.; two great grandsons, Matthew Keys and Steven Gullberg; and two sisters, Elner Price and Hazel Andrews.
Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Tuesday, December 12, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral service will be held there on Wednesday, December 13, 2017 at 10 AM with Pastor Phil Taylor of Titusville Grace Fellowship Church officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
