Obituary of Dale W Hollabaugh
Mr. Dale W. Hollabaugh, 69, of Townville, passed away on Thursday, January 25, 2018 at Meadville Medical Center following a lengthy illness.
He was born in Meadville on March 7, 1948 to Merle and Alice Wright Hollabaugh.
Dale graduated from Townville High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served two years during the Vietnam Era. He was stationed in Germany, and was honorably discharged in 1970.
Dale married Reverend Betty Snyder on March 20, 1971 at the Pleasantville United Methodist Church.
He worked for Channellock, Inc. in Meadville for twenty years.
Dale attended Troy Center United Methodist Church, where he worked with the youth. He then attended Chapmanville Community Church for several years, and was active in the Sunday school program and Christian comedy group. He later attended the Townville United Methodist Church where he participated in the adult Sunday school class and various activities of the church until his illness made it difficult. During his wife, Betty’s, pastoral ministry he helped with children’s programs, vacation bible school, and helped in the kitchens for church dinners.
He volunteered at the Titusville Toy Shop for eight years. Dale competed in the Saegertown Pioneer Gas & Steam Show for six years. He enjoyed working in his vegetable garden, and helping family and friends.
Dale is survived by his mother, Alice Lewis and husband Robert of Townville; wife Betty of Townville; a daughter, Tammy Hollabaugh of Townville; and a sister, Sandra Hollabaugh of Meadville.
He was preceded in death by his father, Merle.
Friends and family may attend a memorial service at Townville United Methodist Church, 33274 N. Main St., Townville, PA 16360, on Saturday, February 3, 2018 at 11 AM. A luncheon will follow, provided by the women of the Enterprise United Methodist Church.
