Obituary of Robert L. Tenney

Robert L. Tenney, 84, of Titusville, passed away Thursday evening January 25, 2018 at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

            Bob was born on June 4, 1933 in Oil City, a son of the late Robert and Opal Moyer Tenney.  He was married to Beverly Hulsizer on January 17, 1953 at Kaneville.

            Bob had attended the Oil City schools.

            He had been employed at National Fuel Gas as a regulator specialist for 40 years until his retirement in 1991.  He had also been employed for several years at Cubbon Lumber in Plumer.

            He was a veteran of the US Army having served during the Korean Conflict.

            He was a member of the Titusville First United Methodist Church; a member of the B.P.O. Elks No. 264; a former member of the Titusville Moose Club; a member of the Oil City Lodge No. 710 F.& A.M.; a member of the New Castle Consistory;  a member of the Acacia Gotto; and a member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.

            Bob was an avid golfer and was a member of the Elder Statesmen Golf League and a member of the Tri-County Golf League at Mt. Hope.

            He is survived by his wife of Titusville; a daughter, Debra Tenney of Titusville; four sisters, Mrs. Eva Sottiaux of Mesa, AZ, Mrs. Ruth Sottiaux of Oil City, Mrs. Helen Polm and husband Thomas of Rockland, and Mrs. Doris Schwab and husband Thomas of Franklin; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, Timothy Allen Tenney; and two brothers, Harold “Bud” and Larry Tenney.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Monday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM.  A masonic service will be conducted at 6:45 PM Monday at the funeral home.

 Further visitation will be held on Tuesday from 10 to 11 AM at the First United Methodist Church 302 W. Walnut St. Titusville.  The funeral service will be conducted at the church at 11:00 AM Tuesday with Rev. Larry Reitz and Rev. Glen Irvin officiating.

            Interment will be in Plumer Cemetery.
