Obituary of Evelyn E. Tweedie
Mrs. Evelyn E. Tweedie, 94, of Main St., Tidioute passed away at 8:07 AM on Friday, February 2, 2018, at the Rouse Home in Youngsville.
Mrs. Tweedie was born on July 10, 1923, in New Vineyard, Maine to the late Benjamin and Ethel Rice Baud.
She owned and operated a daycare in Forked River, NJ and also worked as a manager at Electrons Inc. in Newark, NJ.
Mrs. Tweedie was a member of the former Tidioute United Methodist Church and currently attended the Tidioute Baptist Church. She was also a member of the Eastern Star while living in Jersey City, NJ.
She enjoyed crocheting, knitting, sewing and loved to cook. She served as a lay delegate to the Western Pennsylvania Annual Conference of the United Methodist Church in Grove City for several years.
Evelyn is survived by her son, Rev. Dr. Thomas Topar and his wife Donna of Ellwood City; 5 grandchildren, David Topar of Dallas, TX, Tammy Topar of Tyrone, Tracy Raha and husband Gautam of Economy, Tara Topar of Ellwood City, Treasure Johnston and husband James of Girard, OH; 5 great-grandchildren, Kyle Raha a student at Youngstown State University, Kaleb Raha, Kiran Raha of Economy, Alexandra and Matthew Johnston of Girard, OH.
She was preceded in death by her husband, William P. Tweedie; 2 brothers, Reon and Harold Baud; and 3 sisters, Delia Charbonneau, Hazel Smith, and Helen Wills.
A memorial service will be conducted from the Baptist Church 218 Main St., Tidioute, PA 16351 on Sunday, February 11th at 4:00 PM with Rev. Terry Brown of the New Ireland and Lake Pleasant United Methodist Churches, officiating.
Interment will be in Wurtemburg Cemetery, Ellwood City.
