Obituary of Bernadine J. Allen
Mrs. Bernadine J. “Deanie” Allen, 87, of Kaneville Rd., Oil City passed away at 10:54 PM on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at the Oil City Healthcare and Rehabilitation Center.
Mrs. Allen was born on December 12, 1930, in Holmes County, Ohio to the late Charles and Clelia Miller Dunkel. She married William Allen on May 9, 1981, in Pleasantville.
She was a graduate of Oil City High School.
Deanie was formerly employed as a legal secretary for Attorney’s Sam Grant and Max Gabreski of Oil City. She also waitressed and loved being a homemaker for her family.
Mrs. Allen was a former Girl Scout Leader. She enjoyed reading, traveling and playing scrabble.
She is survived by her husband William Allen of Oil City; 4 children, Bernadine “Deanie” Grant and husband Dale of Mercer, Max Skiba and wife Vickie of Oil City, Beverly Rock and fiancé Paul Hall of Pittsburgh, Edward Skiba and wife Maura of Indianapolis, IN; 5 grandchildren, Brian Skiba and wife Jodi of Cheyenne, WY, Dale Grant and wife Kelly of Douglassville, Jennifer Rock of Butler, Sara Skiba and fiancé Joe Beach of Stoneboro, Ariel Skiba of Houston, TX; 8 great grandchildren, Hailey, Mason, Jaylee, Layla, KayLynn, Morgan, Joel, Elijah; 2 brothers, Ernest Dunkel of Columbia, TN, Charles Dunkel and wife Carol of Oil City; a sister, Gertrude McBride of Plumer; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Mrs. Allen was preceded in death by a son, David Skiba; 2 brothers, Herbert and Donald Dunkel; and 3 sisters, Mabel Johnston, Pearl Gegogeine, and Ila Meehan.
No calling hours will be observed.
A memorial service will be held at the Titusville YWCA, 212 N. Franklin St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Saturday, May 5, 2018 at 1 PM.
Inurnment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.
