Obituary of Marian A. Propheter

            Marian A. Propheter, 86, of Mystic Park Road Centerville, passed away Wednesday morning February 14, 2018 at the Marquette Hospice House in Meadville.

            Marian was born on November 19, 1931 at Tryonville, a daughter of the late Ray and Edna Lingo Van Cise.  She was married to Howard L. Propheter.

            Marian was a graduate of Townville High School.  She had worked at GTE Sylvania until her retirement.

            Marian was a member of the Tryonville United Methodist Church.

            She enjoyed playing cards with her sisters; trips to the casino; playing bingo; feeding the hummingbirds; spending time with her family and Sunday dinners; and her pet dog “Peanut”.

            Marian is survived by her husband of 69 years; four children; Skip Propheter and wife Christine of Centerville, Brenda Douglas and husband Ruric of Meadville, George Propheter and wife Rita of Centerville, and Melissa Propheter of Warren, PA; 12 grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; two sisters, Edna G. Van Cise of Tryonville and Leona Colbert of Centerville; and numerous nieces and nephews. 

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, George and Ray “Bud” Van Cise; and four sisters, Myrtle Van Cise, Laura Sutton, Sarah DeArment, and Helen Ralston.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.

            Private interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with services for the family.

            The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County 406 W. Oak St. Titusville, PA 16354.
