Obituary of Charles M. Boyle

Mr. Charles M. Boyle, 71, of Cherry Run Rd., Rouseville passed away at 2:10 AM on Monday, April 2, 2018, at UPMC Northwest in Seneca.

               Mr. Boyle was born on January 17, 1947, in Union City. He was the son of the late Carl and Kathryn Doolittle Boyle.

               Charles was a graduate of St. Joseph’s Academy in Titusville, class of 1965.

               He was a veteran of the US Army having served in Vietnam War from 1967 to 1969. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Private First Class.

               Charles was formerly employed by Cyclops and Cytemp Specialty Steel in Titusville. He later worked for Pittsburgh Steel. Charles returned to the area where he worked for Universal Stainless in Titusville, until his retirement.

               He was a member of the Titusville Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW and Oil City Post 464 VFW.

               Charles enjoyed hunting and going to NASCAR and dirt track races.

               He is survived by a son, Russell “Rusty” Boyle, Sr. and wife Christina of Geneva, OH; a daughter, Shannon Rutledge of Erie; a nephew, Todd Crose of Rouseville who Charles and wife Mary raised like a son; 7 grandchildren, Charles Boyle, Aaron Boyle both of Gastonia, NC, Russell Boyle, Jr., Rodney Boyle both of Titusville, Kristin Jozefczyk of Erie, Jonathan and Jacob Tanner both of Geneva, OH; 2 great grandchildren, Alexandra Boyle and Anna McGuire both of Titusville; a brother, Larry Boyle of Polk; and 2 half-brothers, Gary Boyle and Jerry Boyle both of Meadville.

               Charles was preceded in death by his wife Mary Reisinger Boyle whom he married on April 29, 1995, and passed away on August 6, 2017.

               A Celebration of Life will be held at the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, 206 St. John St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Saturday, April 7th at 4:00 PM.

               Memorial contributions may be made to the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.
