Obituary of Genevieve S. Zerres

            Mrs. Genevieve S. Zerres, 93, a former resident of Titusville passed away at 7:27 AM on Friday, April 6, 2018, at the Meadville Medical Center. She was a resident of Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville for the past year.

            Mrs. Zerres was born on December 20, 1924, in Riceville to the late William and Agnes Smail Stover. She married Kenneth A. Zerres on May 10, 1956. Mr. Zerres preceded her in death on May 22, 2005.

            She was formerly employed as an inspector with GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville for 33 years. She retired in 1985.

            Genevieve was a member of the Crossroads Community Baptist Church in Erie.

            In her younger days, she enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues at Lin Van Lanes in Titusville.  She lately enjoyed playing video bowling and Wheel of Fortune on the Nintendo Wii. She was always up to play board games, read a good novel, playing cards (especially 500 bid), and cheering on her favorite baseball team the Pittsburgh Pirates.

            Genevieve was a very positive and loving person who could always bring out the best in people and make life fun.

            She is survived by 5 children, Charles Parke and wife Kathy of AZ, Barbara Kreighbaum of Akron, OH, Patrica Parke, Linda Kerr and husband Allen of Titusville, Roberta Edelmann and husband Jeff of Cochranton; a son-in-law, Fred Wellman of Lincolnville; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

            She was preceded in death by 2 daughters, Jeanne Parke and Donna Wellman; 4 brothers, Ronald “Pete” who died during World War II in Normandy, Ben, Elmer, and William Stover; and 4 sisters, Bow Toohey, Sarah Weatherbee, Irene Macy and Pauline Geer.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville,  PA 16354 on Thursday, April 19th from 1:00 to 2:00 PM with a memorial service to follow conducted by Pastor David White of the Crossroads Community Baptist Church, officiating.

            Interment of ashes will be in the Riceville Cemetery.
