Obituary of Jeffrey A. Kilner

Jeffrey A. Kilner passed away, very peacefully, Sunday morning, May 202018, after a short battle with Hepatitis C related liver cancer, with his wife, Jan, by his side.

He was born on December 13, 1949, to the late Paul B. and Donna L. Allen Kilner in Mercer, PA.

Jeff graduated from McDowell High School, class of 1968; where he met his wife Jan (Jeannette) Williams, they recently celebrated their 48th wedding anniversary.

Jeff was an Auto Body Technician at Ben Fresch VW in Erie before moving to Titusville to begin his teaching career at the Venango County Technology Center. He received his teaching certificate from IUP at this time.

Jeff is survived by his wife, Jan; son, Jeffrey P. Kilner and wife Jamie; and a sister, Rebecca Lynn Michalak and husband John. He is also survived by his aunt, Joyce Boykan and husband Jim, and their three children; along with many members of Jan’s family. All of Jeff’s in-laws, nieces and nephews were always loved as deeply as his own family.

He was preceded in death by his parents and beloved daughter,  Alissa Margaret Kilner, who passed on April 1, 2010 from NASH Disease, or non-alcoholic fatty liver disease.

At Jeff’s request there will be no funeral services, but the family will host a celebration of life at a later date.

We ask family and friends to remember Jeff for his passion for life. His love of perfection and detail on cars he repaired. Remember him for his oddball sense of humor, his goodness and kindness to all people, his irreverent sense of humor, and his unconditional love for all of his friends.  Remember his passionate love for his family. The world has lost a really good man, but smile when you think of him....guaranteed he is smiling back.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to The Chronic Liver Disease Foundation (CLDF), 100 Walnut Street, Suite 103, Clark, NJ, 07066 to help fund further research for cures of these horrible diseases that have devastated our family.
