Obituary of Reid G. Jackson, Jr.

            Reid G. Jackson, Jr., 71, of Townville, passed away Monday evening May 21, 2018 at his residence.

            Reid was born on June 29, 1946 in Oil City, a son of the late Reid G. Jackson, Sr. and Caroline Hartsell Jackson.  He was married to Tami Gray on June 17, 2000 in Townville.

            Reid was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1964, and had attended Penn State Behrend.

              He was a veteran of the Vietnam Conflict having served in the US Air Force.  He entered the service on Oct. 6, 1967 at Cleveland, OH and was honorably discharged on June 11, 1971 at Dover Air Force Base with the rank of staff sergeant.  He then completed his two years of reserve duty and was discharged on July 31, 1973.

            Reid was employed as a sales consultant for Portersville Valve PRD in New Castle since 2001.  He had previously been employed at the former Pennzoil Refinery in Rouseville for 20 years.

            Reid was a former member of the Pleasantville United Methodist Church.  He was a life member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW.  He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, photography and gardening.  He loved working in his garage doing carpentry work, making baskets and cane chairs.

            Reid enjoyed most spending time with his family.  He was a very caring person who was eager to help others in need.

            Reid is survived by his wife of Townville; a son, Eric Jackson and wife Lisa of Pleasantville; a daughter, Shawnli Dunlevy of Pittsburgh; two grandchildren, Nicole Jackson and Eric Jackson, Jr.; a brother, John V. Jackson of Sacramento, CA; two sisters, Regina Kay Clevenger and husband Herbert of Austin, TX and Judie A. Jackson of San Diego, CA; his former wife, Sandra Jackson of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a step-son, Dakota Dunlevy.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from noon to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Lee Baker and Mr. John Gordon, officiating.

            Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery in Centerville with full military rites.
