Obituary of Samuel E. Puffenbarger

Mr. Samuel E. Puffenbarger, 81, of 217 E. Central Ave. Titusville, passed away on Monday, June 04, 2018 at 11:06 AM at Select Specialty Hospital in Erie.

               Sam was born on December 31, 1936 in Hillsboro, WV to the late William E. and Elsie Lantz Puffenbarger. He married Nancy Stroup on December 19, 1970 in Titusville. She preceded him in death on March 8, 2005.

               He was a graduate of Hillsboro High School, class of 1957.

               Sam was formerly employed as a laborer with Skyline Industries in Titusville, Evenflow in Tionesta and for a short time at Drake Well Park.

               He was a member of the Titusville Free Methodist Church.

               Sam is survived by his daughter Mildred “Millie” Lehmann and husband Lawrence of Spring Creek; two step sons, Robert Stroup and wife Belinda of Pineville, LA, and Scott Stroup and wife Michelle of Centerville; 3 step-grandchildren, Daniel Stroup of Pineville, LA, Serena Stroup and Andrea Stroup of Centerville; four siblings, Mildred Swab of Marienville, Billy Puffenbarger and wife Nancy, Carol “Kake” Puffenbarger, Katherine Wimer all of Hillsboro, WVA; and numerous nieces and nephews.

               He was preceded in death by an infant daughter Nancy Marie; two sisters, Anna Grace and Dorothy “Dottie” Poage; and three brothers, Hubert, Julian “Shorty” and Louis Puffenbarger.

               Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday from Noon to 2 PM at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, officiating.

               Interment will be at Neilltown Cemetery.

               Memorial contributions can be made to: the American Diabetes Association or the Keystone Blind Association.
