Obituary of Russell L. Smith, Jr.

Russell L. “Rusty” Smith, Jr., 46, of Snyder Rd., Titusville passed away at 2:55 PM on Monday, June 11, 2018, following an extended illness.

Rusty was born on August 14, 1971, in Titusville to Russell L. Smith, Sr. and Caroline McKee Laughrin.

He attended Titusville and Maplewood schools.

Rusty was formerly employed by Weyerhaeuser for 15 years as a lumber grader and line leader. He then went to work at RTI for 3 years, Alturnamats for 2 ½ years as the production manager and most recently with Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as a truck driver for 2 years.

He attended the Bible Baptist Church.

 Rusty enjoyed dj-ing at Relay for Life (7years) and for entertainment events. He loved the outdoors, fishing, camping, golfing, playing on the Weyerhaeuser softball team and bowling. Rusty was also into physical fitness, working out at the gym, and competing as a professional arm wrestler. He had an artistic gift and made many drawing that often ended up on a t-shirt.

In addition to his parents, he is survived by fiancé of 26 years Wendy See of Titusville; 3 daughters, Alyssa Smith, Amber Harmon and husband David, Ashley See all of Titusville; 3 grandchildren, Memphis Oliver, Tanner Harmon, Koraline See; a brother, Philip Smith of Erie; 2 sisters, Tina Hogue of Titusville, Barbie Baker and husband Art of Kane; and several nieces and nephews.

Friends will be received at the Bible Baptist Church on Saturday from 12:30 to 2:00 pm with a memorial service to follow conducted by Rev. Doug Cole.

A memorial dinner will follow at the Hydetown Vol. Fire Department.
