Obituary of Robert C. Sawatsky

Robert C. Sawatsky, 79, formerly of 612 E. Elm St. Titusville, passed away Friday evening September 28, 2018 at Titusville Healthcare and Rehabilitation.

            Bob was born on April 11, 1939 at Oil City, PA, a son of the late Edwin and Edna Monks Sawatsky.  He was married to Yvonne A. Lesh on Aug. 27, 1960 in Oil City.  She preceded him in death on June 3, 2010.

            Bob was a graduate of Cranberry High School. 

            He had been employed at Titusville Gage Company/Redland Johnson from where he retired.  He had previously been employed at Conair in Franklin, Queen Cutlery in Titusville, the former Buyers Fair in Titusville, and was also a driver for Donovan and Bauer in Titusville.

            He was a member of the former Emanuel Lutheran Church in Titusville.  He was an avid bowler; enjoyed fishing and hunting; watching Titusville Rockets Softball; and was also an avid fan of the Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins.

            Bob is survived by two sons, John Sawatsky and wife Beth of Neavitt, MD and Mark Sawatsky and wife Monica of Titusville; a son-in-law, Philip Womer of Oil City; seven grandchildren, Melissa Lloyd, Katelyn Monn, Alex Womer, Lindsey, Erasha, Ian, and Nolan Sawatsky; 7 great grandchildren; two sisters, Betty Fry and companion Jack Rector of Titusville, and Cathy Weaver and husband Gary of Knox; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Carrie Womer.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 PM.  Further visitation will be held on Wednesday from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Pastor Robin Sterling, Bob’s niece, and Pastor Jeff Sterling, officiating.

            Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
