Obituary of George W. Henry

            Mr. George William Henry, 81, of 41275 Pleasant St., (Hydetown Boro) Titusville passed away at 5:40 PM on Wednesday, October 17, 2018, at his residence.

            Mr. Henry was born on November 20, 1936, in Stump Creek, PA to the late Russell and Helen Krucelyak Henry. He married Karen Beck on June 25, 1960, at St. Titus Church.

            He served in the US Army from February 16, 1956 to February 13, 1959.

            George was employed for thirty-five years as a lineman and supervisor for Penelec until his retirement in 1994. He also worked at Cross Creek Resort doing grounds maintenance for twenty years when he retired in 2015.

            George was a member of Immaculate Conception Mission Church, and a life member of the Knights of Columbus.

            He enjoyed fishing trips with his Penelec buddies, bus trips with friends, baking cookies and fudge for people, taking care of his home and cutting the grass, getting his house decorated for the holidays, camping, and spending quality time with his family.

            George is survived by his wife, Karen Henry of Hydetown; two daughters, Kim Dickson and husband Sam of Hopewell, and Jody Gustafson and husband Shawn of Centerville; a grandson, Mason Gustafson of Centerville; two brothers-in-law, Bill Beck and wife Pam of Titusville, Dan Beck and wife Clare of Rockville Centre, NY; and several nieces and nephews.

            He was preceded in death by nine siblings, Edward, Russell, Andrew, John Henry, Esther Covell, Rose Atkinson, Irene Wakefield, and infant twins.

            Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 today (Friday) from 4 to 7 PM. A mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10:00 AM from the Immaculate Conception Mission 17932 Wright Rd., Centerville, PA 16404 with Father John Detisch, officiating.

            Interment will be in St. Catharines Cemetery.
