Obituary of Betty J. Rodgers

Betty J. Rodgers, 95, of Warren, passed away Friday morning Oct. 26, 2018 at the Kinzua Healthcare Center in Warren.

            Betty was born on Aug. 14, 1923 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Charles and Bessie Goodwill Vanderhoff.  She was married to Frank Rodgers on Dec. 22, 1940 in Brookville.  He preceded her in death on March 23, 2015.

            Betty had attended the Titusville schools.   She had been employed as a seamstress for the Bargain Store in Titusville for many years.

            Betty enjoyed spending time with her family and especially her grandchildren.

            Betty is survived by three children, Robert Rodgers and wife Linda of Lady Lake, FL, Joyce Edwards of Youngsville, and Karen Rodgers and companion Kelly Whitmire of Warren; five grandchildren, Robert Rodgers, Jr. and wife Linda of Deltona, FL, Angela Pizer and husband William of Corry, Sherry Hartle and companion Curt Bunnell of Oil City, Carla Ferry and husband Jack of Warren, and Carrie Kinnear and companion Jerod Whitmer of Titusville;  nine great grandchildren; a great great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Edward Rodgers; a grandson, Jason Rodgers; a great grandson, Thomas Phelps; five brothers, Donald, Elwin, Carlyle, Grant, and Malcolm Vanderhoff; and four sisters, Doris Krechen-Steadman, Viola Harrington, Ethel Metzgar, and Ruth Crawford.

            No calling hours will be observed.  A private memorial service will be conducted for the family at a later date.

            Inurnment will be in Riceville Cemetery.
