Obituary of Carol Sue Kane
Mrs. Carol “Sue” Kane, 82, of 217 E. Central Ave. Titusville, passed away on Thursday, November 1, 2018 at her residence.
Sue was born on May 7, 1936 in Tidioute to the late Herman and Genevieve Keifer Knight. She attended Tidioute schools and was a graduate of Tidioute High School. In October of 1954, she married Charles Herbert Kane, also of Tidioute, and raised four children. Sue worked at Cherry Hill Chair Factory, MFG, Lorengers, The Tippie Canoe, and the Powder Horn.
Sue loved her family and friends and always had a pot of coffee and good conversation ready for visitors. She was amazing cook who loved how meals could bring her family together for laughter and a good-spirited card game. She will forever be remembered for her sense of humor, lovingly saying “if you go away hungry, it’s your own fault!”, and making sure all who came to her home were well taken care of and knew they were loved. Sue loved to listen to old country music and sing along as she cooked. She also was a baseball and basketball fan, closely following several teams throughout the years including the Pirates, Cubs, and the Bulls. She was a member of the former PNA Club and enjoyed playing Bingo for many years. Sue was extremely proud of her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren and enjoyed the opportunity to tell everyone she talked to about their accomplishments. She was lovingly referred to as “the Old Lady” for many years before settling into the title of “GG” from her great grandchildren. Sue’s favorite thing to do was get together with her family and she truly enjoyed watching all of the children grow.
Sue is survived by her a son Charles Kane and wife Anne of Pleasantville; three daughters Rhonda Kane and husband Dr. Daniel Taylor of Erie, Donna Nichols of Pleasantville, and Shelly Sampson and husband John of Pleasantville; eleven grandchildren, Adam Kane and wife Maggie, Chad Kane and companion Donna Fluarty, Crystal Sopher and husband Frank, Tami Johnson and companion Dave Deeter, Tabetha Johnson, Uriah Sampson and wife Jacqui, Dr. Miranda Ralston and husband Joe, Kris Sampson and wife Lorenna, and Todd Sampson and wife April, Shawn Nichols and wife Charity, Sara Nichols and companion George Sherwood; numerous great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; three brothers, Richard, Larry, and Randy Knight, and one sister Wanda Vincent; and many nieces and nephews.
