Obituary of Don F. Watson
Don F. Watson, 76, of 21295 South Rd. Centerville, died unexpectedly Saturday evening April 23, 2011 at his residence.
Don was born on September 23, 1934 at Franklin, PA, a son of the late Clarence and Lois Schuler Watson. He was married to Jean Burt on May 30, 1955.
Don had attended the Pleasantville schools. He was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corps. He entered the service on June 30, 1954 at Cleveland, OH and was honorably discharged on June 29, 1956 at Camp Lejune with the rank of corporal.
Don had been employed as a marine engineer for Bethlehem Steel. He had been retired for the past 15 years. He had also worked as a deputy game warden for 20 years in Erie and Crawford counties.
Don enjoyed hunting, fishing, mowing the grass and working in the garden.
He is survived by his wife of Centerville; two sons, Clark Watson and his wife Lori, and Blaine Watson and his wife Becky, all of Centerville; four grandchildren, Marshall Watson and his wife Lauren, Lenore Watson, Dennis Watson, and Lindsey Sitarz and her companion Jason Howland; a great granddaughter, Olivia Sitarz; two brothers, Dan E. Watson and his wife Darlene of Pleasantville, and Dean S. Watson and his wife Caroline of Oil City; a sister, Mary Burt and her husband Joe of Pleasantville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Don was preceded in death by a brother, Dewayne “Fred” Watson.
No public calling hours will be observed. A memorial service will be conducted later at a time to be announced.
Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
