Obituary of Lucille Marie Clickett
Lucille Marie Clickett, who resided with her daughter in Centerville, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday evening November 13, 2018.
Lucille was born on October 7, 1923 in Titusville to the late Glenn Durham and Hazel Roberts Sharp.
She married Hugh S. Clickett in 1938. He preceded her in death on April 16, 1967. She later met her companion, Andrew Swabik, whom she was with for 38 years. He also preceded her in death on January 2, 2010.
Lucille attended Elm Street School for four years, Union Street School for two years, and 7th through 9th grade at Main Street School. She received her GED in 1969.
She was once employed at Pierce’s Store at Canadohta Lake; Grants Store in Titusville; the family monument business in Centerville; fostered many children; Shirley’s Bridal Shop in Union City; cooked for the Titusville Country Club and The Oakes in Hydetown; secretary for her son’s businesses ; and many other odd jobs to provide for her family.
Lucille enjoyed making quilts for Project Lioness, knitting over 1000 hats for Erie City Missions, crocheting, crossword puzzles, scrabble, and playing on her iPad.
She was also a part of the Strawberry Festival past and present making her famous baked beans or donating a quilt or afghan.
Lucille is survived by six children; Gene Clickett, Mark Clickett, and Susanne Ehrhart of Centerville, Donald Clickett and companion Molly McVey of Erie, Lisa Phillips and husband Larry of Spartansburg, and Tom Clickett and wife Cindy of Union City; a daughter-in-law, A. Margaret “Sunnie” Clickett of Titusville; grandchildren, Jim and Rich Kirkwood, Kevin Clickett, Kathleen Newsome, Jason Clickett, Aaron Clickett, Donna, Kristin Bushong, Renee’ Butler, Matthew Clickett, Melissa Miller, Sherry Hopkins, Jenny Clickett, Nathan Greer, Tawnya Lindsay, Todd Phillips, Heather Phillips, Justin Clickett, and Natalie Clickett; 27 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; three sisters, Geraldine Armstrong of Staten Island, NY, Sally Curtes of New Jersey, and Marlene Sharp Redmond of Titusville; and extended family that she loved also.
Lucille was preceded in death by a daughter, Katherine Clickett Parker; a son, Richard Clickett; a brother, Charles Durham; and a special aunt, Bernice Foresther McDonnell.
She will be remembered as a hard worker, a giver, a woman of strength, love, and so much more. She told the Lord that she was ready to come home.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Saturday from 6 to 8 PM and attend the funeral service there on Sunday at 3:00 PM with Fr. John Detisch officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
