Obituary of George Wilson Holtz

George Wilson Holtz, 90, of Titusville, went to be with his Lord, Sunday, November 18, 2018 at 5:06 PM at his residence.

                He was born in Pleasantville on March 17, 1928 to the late Clarence Holtz and Bertha Eakin Holtz Stephens.

                He attended Titusville High School where he later earned his GED.

                George was a veteran having served in the US Army during World War II stationed in the Phillipines.  He entered the service on Jan. 22, 1946 at Oil City and was honorably discharged on June 27, 1947 at Camp Stoneman, CA.

                George married the former Betty Brannon on Feb. 28, 1948 in Titusville.  She preceded him in death on July 28, 1989.

                George had worked for the former Tieg & Company in Titusville for 35 years as an appliance repairman and later as part owner of the store.  After retirement, he continued to serve the area in appliance repair.

George was a member of the Oil City Church of the Nazarene; the Pleasantville Lions Club; and enjoyed riding his motorcycle. 

                George is survived by three children;  Sharon McKeown of Titusville, Rev. David Holtz and wife Lyndell of Brookville, and Rev. Steven Holtz and wife Cindy of Ruleville, MS;  grandchildren, Andrea Beck of Mississippi; Michael McKeown and wife Michelle of Meadville, Marc McKeown and wife Lisa of Titusville, Chad Holtz and wife Stephanie of Cleveland, TN, Vondrea Holtz of Brookville, Ryan Holtz of Pittsburgh, Jackie Kinderman and husband David of DuBois, and Shawn Holtz and wife Heather of Memphis, TN;  great grandchildren, Maggie and Katie Beck; Gabrial, London, and Cameron McKeown, Arial Rumsey and husband Dominic, Tucker Fanzo, Jacob and Edward Marcalus, Landon Kinderman, Sophia, Brody, Maddox, Eli, Ava, River Joy, and Finn Holtz; and a great great granddaughter, Davina Rumsey; two brothers, Willis “Butch” Stephens and wife Sue of Altoona and George “Bud” Stephens of Albuquerque, NM; two sisters, Dixie Edwards of Titusville and Henrietta Williams of State College; and numerous nieces and nephews.

                In addition to his parents and wife, George was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Michael McKeown; siblings, Daryl Stephens, Alberta Ricke, Elaine Davenport, Lena Sult, Clifford Stephens and Raymond Holtz.

                Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with his two sons officiating.

                Interment will be in Jerusalem Corners Cemetery.
