Obituary of Marie G. Caldwell
Mrs. Marie G. Caldwell, 79, of 2033 Buxton Rd. Titusville, died at 5:50 PM Tuesday, April 26, 2011 at the Golden Living Center in Titusville.
Marie was born on April 16, 1932 at Oil City, PA, a daughter of the late Austin and Ruth Nick Guth. She was married to Harry K. Caldwell on June 2, 1956 in Oil City.
Marie was a graduate of Cranberry High School, class of 1951. She had been employed at Buyers Fair in Oil City for five years and Titusville for 15 years. She had also been employed in the banking industry for a number of years and had worked at First Seneca Bank in Oil City and Pennbank in Titusville.
Marie was a member of St. Titus Church; and a member of the Cherrytree Volunteer Fire Dept. Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed spending time with her children and grandchildren.
She is survived by her husband of Titusville; three children, Harry R. Caldwell and wife Tina, Diane Bienio and husband Steve, and Tom Caldwell and wife Renee, all of Titusville; nine grandchildren; one great granddaughter; a brother, Austin J. Guth, Jr. and wife Kathy of Seneca; two sisters, Donna Hoffman of Tennessee and Dorothy Brown and husband Jess of Virginia; an aunt, Jean Nick of Erie; sisters-in-law, Kaby Drake and husband Kirt, and Midge Caldwell, all of Titusville; a brother-in-law, Donald Caldwell and wife Loretta of Titusville; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by two brothers, Raymond and Paul Guth; a sister, Ruth Ann Guth; and a brother-in-law, Faye Caldwell.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Friday from 6 to 8 PM. A vigil service will be conducted at the funeral home on Friday evening at 5:45 PM.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 2:00 PM at St. Titus Church with Fr. D.G. Davis III, pastor of the Titusville Catholic community, as celebrant.
Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to St. Titus Church.
