Obituary of Richard C. Head

Richard C. Head, 79, of Titusville, currently residing at Sunrise Assisted Living in Cranberry Township, passed away Wednesday evening April 27, 2011. Mr. Head was born on Sept. 24, 1931 in Titusville, a son of the late Clarence and Florence Carpenter Head. He was married to Marian Graff on July 7, 1951 at St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. Mr. Head had been employed at the former Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. in Titusville for over thirty years until his retirement in 1987. He was a veteran of the Korean Conflict having served in the US Army from February of 1953 until his honorable discharge in January of 1955. Mr. Head was a member of the First Presbyterian Church and a former member of St. Paul’s United Church of Christ. He was a member of the Cyclops Quarter Century Club. He enjoyed spending time with his wife and family. Mr. Head is survived by his wife of Titusville, currently residing at Cranberry Township; two sons, Richard C. Head and companion Joanne Fucci of Titusville, and Mark A. Head and wife Mary Beth of Cranberry Township; three grandchildren, Ashley, Lauren and Allie Head; and a niece, Linda Moreau of Indiana, PA. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Robert Head. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Friday) from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service on Saturday at 10 AM at the First Presbyterian Church with Mrs. Jacqueline Wagner, senior assistant to the pastor, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery with full military rites. The family asks that memorials be made to First Presbyterian Church FLOWERS
