Obituary of Raymond L. Crawford
Mr. Raymond L. Crawford, 91, of Titusville, passed away on Tuesday, January 1, 2019 at Wesbury United Methodist Community in Meadville.
He was born in Titusville on January 15, 1927 to the late Walter and Fannie Miles Crawford.
Ray graduated from Colestock High School.
He was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He served during WWII, having entered the service on July 25, 1945. He was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant on December 18, 1946.
Ray married Marilyn Middaugh on June 25, 1955 at First Presbyterian Church in Warren. She preceded him in death on July 28, 1995.
He retired from Universal Cyclops Specialty Steel Corp. after over thirty years of employment. He then worked at Poux Plastic for over fifteen years.
Ray was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where he would usher and meet for the men’s breakfast group.
He was a member of the Titusville Lions Club.
Ray enjoyed many activities throughout his life. He enjoyed the outdoors, and the many activities that it offers, including hunting, hiking, snowmobiling, golfing, and camping. He enjoyed bowling, roller skating, and square dancing. He was a great handyman and mechanic, as well.
He is survived by four children, Linda Sobek and husband Mark of Noblesville, IN, Rhonda Poux and husband Phillip of Lakeland, TN, Cheryl Conklin and husband Joseph of Southwick, MA, and Michael Crawford of Titusville; ten grandchildren, Bryan Sobek and wife Wendy, Valerie Clymer and husband Daniel, Ryan Poux, Jason Poux and wife Paulina, Andrew Conklin, Alyssa Conklin, Amanda Conklin, Darius Crawford, Zaide Crawford, and Paisley Crawford; and two great grandchildren, Wyatt and Everett Clymer.
He was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Nelson.
Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Friday, January 4, 2019 from 6 to 8 PM, and the funeral service will be held there on Saturday, January 5, 2019 at 11 AM with Dr. Vaughan Smith, Pastor of Titusville First Presbyterian Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.
