Obituary of Richard R. Nicol

Mr. Richard R. “Rich” Nicol, 75, of Titusville passed away peacefully at home surrounded by family on Monday, January 7, 2019, after battling heart failure for many years.

Rich was born in Manchester, New Hampshire on March 22, 1943. He was the son of the late Roger and Claire (Brunelle) Nicol.

He graduated from high school in Niagara Falls, NY and from Niagara University with a Bachelor of Science degree.

Rich also served in the U. S. Army and was honorably discharged with the rank of Sergeant.

Before retirement, Rich was the owner and operator of Nicol Realty. He was a member of St. Titus Church.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Dolores Lorenz Nicol of Titusville; their children, Mark (Tammy) Nicol of Titusville, Jennifer (Doug) Nesselhauf of Fairview, Jason (Shannon) Nicol of Titusville; his 9 wonderful grandchildren, Matt, Tyler, Mason and Taylor Nicol, Allyson and Doug Nesselhauf, Dustin Knapp, Destiny and Xaviera Nicol; a sister, Estelle (Skip) Smith of Sadorus, IL; sisters-in-law, Mary (Dave) Mellish of Pitman, NJ, Mil (Sam)Patsy of Sykesville, MD; a brother-in-law, John (his late wife Pat) Lorenz of Butler; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Rich enjoyed deep thinking, fishing, hunting and spending time at camp, his heaven on earth. Camp was a meeting place for family and friends to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Rich will always be remembered by the song I’ll do it “My Way” by Frank Sinatra. Celebrate his life by listening to the song and having a Yuengling.

A private service will be conducted for the family at St. Titus Church.
