Obituary of Ruth A. Smith

Mrs. Ruth A. Smith, 72, of Prichard Rd., Titusville passed away at St. Vincent Hospital in Erie surrounded by her family.

Ruth was born on August 10, 1946, in Titusville to the late Alfred W. and Ruth Antill Kinney. She married Gary E. Smith on October 11, 1968, in Titusville.  Mr. Smith passed away on March 14, 2006.

She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1964.

Ruth was formerly employed at GTE Sylvania in Pleasantville, with Compassionate Home Health Care and most recently at Whitman Abstracting.

She enjoyed the outdoors flower gardening and mowing, an avid reader, and loved taking care of her family. She was always a positive person who loved meeting people and making friends.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Tammy Nelson of Cooperstown, Tina Mott and husband Timothy, Amber Hipple and husband Christopher both of Titusville; 7 grandchildren, Courtney Grazier of Cooperstown, Ashley Cox and boyfriend Nathan Knepshield of Rural Valley, Lauren Cox and boyfriend Aaron Rogers, Darein Hipple, Sidonie Hipple, Andru Mott, Chad Mott all of Titusville; a great-granddaughter, Rylee Robl;  5 brothers, Robert Kinney and wife Darlene of Franklin, Gerald Kinney and wife Judy, Harold Raymond Kinney and wife Jan, Joseph Kinney, William Kinnney and companion Cindy Dempsey all of Titusville; 3 sisters, Barbara Readmond, Dianne Fiely and husband Joe  both of Titusville, Jeannette Whitman and husband Dan of Grand Valley; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a sister, Nancy Kinney.

Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354 on Sunday from 6 to 8 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Monday at 11:00 AM with Dr. Barry E. Cressman, officiating.

Interment will be in Jamison Corners Cemetery.
