Obituary of Samuel L. Acel, Jr.
Mr. Samuel Lee Acel, Jr., 88, of Titusville, passed away on Saturday, February 16, 2019, at the Titusville Area Hospital.
He was born in Titusville on May 30, 1930 to the late Samuel L. and Ada Abrams Acel, Sr.
Sam was a veteran of the United States Air Force. He entered on January 6, 1949 in Erie and was honorably discharged on January 5, 1950 in Moose Lake, Washington.
He married Audrey McIver on July 13, 1951.
Sam retired from Cyclops Specialty Steel.
He was a former member of the Titusville First Assembly of God Church.
Sam enjoyed being outdoors, going to auctions, and going on cruises.
He is survived by his wife of sixty-seven years, Audrey Acel of Titusville; a son, Kenneth Acel and wife Susan of Titusville; a sister, Margaret Williams and husband Sam of Pleasantville; five grandchildren, Kyle Acel, Kevin Acel, Korey Acel, Tammy Acel Smith,Ryan Acel, and Charity Mondak; and numerous great grandchildren.
Sam was preceded in death by two sons, David and Keith Acel; and two brothers, Allen and Jim Acel.
Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville, PA 16354, on Wednesday, February 20, 2019 from 10 to 11 AM, with the funeral service at 11 AM with Brother Ben Yauger, of the East Titusville Evangelical Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Kerr Hill Cemetery.
