Obituary of Pearle Platt Berlin

Mrs. Pearle Platt Berlin, 91, of 39321 State Hwy 408, Titusville died at 7:15 AM on Friday, May 28, 2010 at her residence with her family at home on the farm with her. Mrs. Berlin was born on May 13, 1919 in Titusville to the late Harry and Mary Wynn Platt. She married Orlo A. “Doc” Berlin on November 25, 1937 in Titusville. Mr. Berlin preceded her in death on March 17, 2004. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1937. Mrs. Berlin was formerly employed as a cook for Titusville Head Start when they opened. She attended Hydetown Methodist Church. Mrs. Berlin loved spending time with her family and friends. She enjoyed crocheting, traveling, camping, reading and playing Skip-Bo. She is survived by 7 children, Ran Berlin and wife Joyce of Bridgeport, CA, William Berlin and wife Donna of Hollister, CA, James Berlin and wife Margaret of Boulder Creek, CA, Joseph Berlin and wife Kathy of Hydetown, Terry Berlin and wife Becky of Hydetown, Rebecca Berlin Dunbar of Plainfield, IL, Steven Berlin and wife Cindy of Boulder Creek, CA; 19 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by 3 grandchildren, Len, Guy and Lori; and 3 brothers, Russell Platt and two that died in infancy. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Tuesday from 3 to 5 PM and 7 to 9 PM. Funeral services will be conducted from the funeral home on Wednesday at 1:00 PM by the Berlin family. Interment will be in East Troy Cemetery. At Pearle’s request no flowers but that memorial contributions be made to Hospice of Crawford Co. 310 N. Monroe St., Titusville, PA 16354, Townville Ambulance Service, Townville, PA 16360 or Hydetown Vol. Fire Dept. 1266 Main St., Hydetown, PA 16328. FLOWERS
