Obituary of Joseph P. Paszkowski

Joseph P. Paszkowski, 70, of Columbus, PA, passed away Tuesday, March 19, 2019, at the Corry Memorial Hospital.

            Joe was born on May 22, 1948 at Limmer, Germany.  He was a graduate of Corry High School.

            Joe had been self-employed.  He owned the former Empire Gulf Station in Union, NJ where he also did transmission repair.  He was previously employed with the Ford Motor Company where he was recognized as the number one mechanic on the east coast, receiving numerous awards.

            Joe was an avid mechanic and loved drag racing, playing pool, bowling and vegetable gardening. He also loved animals and had numerous cats.

            He is survived by a daughter, Jody Stamatos of Rockaway, NJ;  two grandchildren, Nicholas Stamatos of Denver, CO and Christopher Stamatos of Rockaway, NJ; his former wife, Linda Nichols Wright of Landing, NJ; a brother, Greg Paszkowski and wife Lucy of Parsippany, NJ; a sister, Anna Derdizkowski of Berkley Heights, NJ; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son-in-law, Nick Stamatos; and a brother, Steve Paszkowski.

            A celebration of life will be held at the family farm 353 Old Pine Valley Rd., Columbus, PA 16405, on April 27th starting at 2:00 PM.

            The family asks that memorials be made to your local humane society.

            The Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St. Titusville, PA is in charge of arrangements.
