Obituary of Lena E Gilson

            Lena E. Gilson, 81, of Centerville, passed away Sunday morning March 31, 2019 at the Meadville Medical Center.

            Lena was born on June 30, 1937 in Centerville, a daughter of the late Vernon and Rosa Smith Wetherbee.  She was married to Robert Gilson on November 6, 1954. 

            Lena had attended the Spartansburg schools.

            She was previously employed at the Cambridge Springs Manor as a nurse; and retired from the Spencer Hospital in Meadville, where she worked in the maternity ward.

            Lena was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church.

            She is survived by her husband of sixty-four years, Robert of Centerville; the following children; William Gilson and wife Karen of New Richmond, Dewayne Gilson and wife Janet of Punxsutawney, Robert Gilson and wife Cheryl of Meadville, Priscilla Schlossher and husband Frank of Saegertown, and Darla Pattison and husband Nelson of Meadville; nine grandchildren, Annette Roberts and husband Bruce, Andrew Gilson, Olivia Berroth and husband Jason, Alicia Gilson, Hollie Goulish and husband Theron, Andrea Crawford and husband Ken, Benjamin Gilson and wife Vanessa, Nathaniel Gilson and wife Nicole, and Marlee Gilson and fiancé Tim Clark; a sister, Barbara Eakin of Utica; fourteen great grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

            In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, George, Charles and Craig Wetherbee, and a sister, Theola Schierer.

            Friends and family may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home, 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Wednesday, April 3, 2019 from 11 AM to 1 PM, at which time the funeral service will be held, with Pastor Gary Kinnear officiating. 

            Interment will be in New Richmond Cemetery.
