Obituary of Henry L. Wescoat

Henry L. “Hank” Wescoat, 84, of Titusville, passed away Friday morning April 12, 2019 at the Titusville Area Hospital.

            Hank was born on May 13, 1934 at Pleasantville, a son of the late Herbert and Mary Twombly Wescoat.  He was married to Hellen Locke on June 28, 1973 at North East, PA.

            Hank had attended the Pleasantville schools.

            Hank had worked on local oil leases with his father and brothers.  He was also a mechanic at Twombly’s Garage and Wescoat’s Garage.  He was last employed by the Titusville Area School District from where he retired in 1999.

            Hank was a member of the Emanuel Lutheran Church where he served as usher and custodian; he was a 32nd degree mason belonging to the Titusville Lodge No. 754 F. & A.M., a member of the Oil City Lodge of Perfection, and a member of the New Castle Consistory.  He was a social member of the VFW and also a member of the Elder Statesmen Golf League.

            Hank was a great sportsman having played baseball, softball, slow pitch, basketball, bowling and golf.  He enjoyed God’s creations and was an avid hunter and fisherman.

            Hank is survived by his wife Hellen of Titusville; three sons, Henry Wescoat and wife Diane of Edinboro, Robert Wescoat of Titusville, and Dean “Chip” Wescoat of Titusville; two step-sons, Robert Bisbee of Titusville and Stephen Bisbee of Tampa, FL; four grandchildren; four great grandchildren; two brothers, James Wescoat of Titusville and Carl Wescoat of Neiltown; and a sister-in-law, Violet Wescoat of Grand Valley; and several nieces and nephews.

            In addition to his parents, Hank was preceded in death by a sister, Charlotte Coulter and a brother, Harrison Wescoat.

The family will receive friends on Monday from 6:00 to 7:00 PM at the Hennes-Garrett Funeral Home 203 E. Main St. Titusville.  A memorial service will be conducted there at 7:00 PM with Rev. Samuel Mabugu officiating.

            Members of the Titusville Lodge 754 F&AM will conduct a service for the family Monday afternoon at the funeral home.

            Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery.

The family asks that memorials be made to Shriners Hospital for Children 1645 W. 8th Street Erie, PA 16505.
