Obituary of Robert A Lesh

Mr. Robert A. “Bob” Lesh, Sr. 71, of 515 S. Franklin St. Titusville, passed away on Thursday, April 18, 2019 at 5:10 AM at his residence.

               Bob was born on May 10, 1947 in Oil City to the late Robert L. and Geraldine Bish Lesh. He married Linda Beeles on November 16, 2007 in Titusville.

               He was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1966.

               Bob was a veteran having served in the United States Marine Corp. during the Vietnam War. He entered the service on August 23, 1966 in Pittsburgh and was honorably discharged on December 26, 1968 in Arlington, VA. He received 3 Purple Heart Medals, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnamese Service Medal, and a Vietnamese Campaign Medal.

               He worked at ToBell Lumber with his father and then ran the company until his retirement.

               He attended St. James Episcopal Church.

               Bob was a life member of the Bruce Shorts Post 5958 VFW, Cleo J. Ross American Legion Post 368, Marine Corp. League, D.A.V., and a member of the Honor Guard.

               He was commander of the American Legion 9 times, VFW twice, The Marine Corp. League 4 times, County Commander 6 times, Sons of Legion 4 times, and Director of the Son’s Commander once. He was the State Sergeant of arms for Sons of Empirical of Nights Color Guard for 22 years. He loved bowling, hunting, and playing pool. He was the Finance Officer for the County of American Legion and head of the bingo committee.

               Bob is survived by his wife Linda of Titusville; five children, Joann Slater of Saegertown, Robert Lesh Jr. of Titusville, Benjamin L. Lesh and wife Ryan of Centerville, Christopher Brown of Titusville, Walter Brown of Meadville; six grandchildren, Raven Brunst and husband Quinten, Elliot Lesh Alexandria Wolford, Aaliya Lesh, Rylea Lesh, and Isaac Hathaway; and an aunt Esther Bell.

               In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister Frances Antill.

               Family and friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville on Saturday, from 11 AM to 1 PM at which time a funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Canon Martha Ishman, officiating. Full military rites will be observed.

A celebration of life dinner will be held Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 1 PM at the Cleo J. Ross Post 368 American Legion.

               Inurnment will be at Jamison Corners Cemetery.

               Memorial contributions can be made to Hospice of Crawford County 406 W. Oak St. Titusville, PA 16354.
