Obituary of Bill Millard
Mr. William R. “Bill” Millard, 75, of Townville, passed away on Monday, May 27, 2019 at the Meadville Medical Center.
Bill was born on April 25, 1944 in Titusville to the late Clinton W. and Stella Seeley Millard. He married Marilyn Fant on June 5, 1971 at the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Titusville.
He attended Townville Schools.
Bill was a dairy farmer before going into the tool and die industry where he worked for ABEX and then Channel Lock where he retired after 20 years.
He was a member of the former Emanuel Lutheran Church in Titusville.
Bill and his wife worked at the Crawford County Fair for many years as part of the cleanup crew under the grandstand, and spent winters at their home in Florida. He was on Townville City Council for several years, enjoyed decorating his house at Christmas time and won many first place prizes. After his retirement Bill enjoyed going to estate sales and garage sales where he always found a quality item for a good price.
He is survived by his wife Marilyn of Townville, a son Todd Millard and wife Stacy of Oil City; three grandchildren, Benjamin K. Millard of Pittsburgh, Lauryn A. Millard of Oil City, and Zella R. Bellin of Fryburg; one great granddaughter Audianna Gatesman of Fryburg; five brothers, Ronnie Millard of Conneaut, OH, Marty Millard and wife Arlene of Chapmanville, Daniel Millard and wife Barbara of Titusville, Douglas Millard and wife Debbie of Titusville, and Bruce Millard of Meadville; one sister Patricia Tracy and husband Fred of Hiram, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Bill was preceded in death by two brothers, James and Jerry Millard; a sister Bonda Millard; and a sister in law Charlotte Millard.
Family and friends may attended a memorial service on Thursday, May 30, 2019 at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St. Titusville at 4 PM with Shawn Amy, officiating. Further visitation will be held immediately following until 6 PM.
A celebration of life dinner will be held on Thursday, June 6, 2019 at 4 PM at Wheelock’s Pavilion in Townville.
The family would like to express its gratitude to Jan and Lee McIntyre, Ruth and Christy Mast, and Jim and Sue Wheelock for all of their help during Bill’s illness.
