Obituary of Gordon L. Turk

Mr. Gordon L. Turk, 87, of Hydetown, passed away on Friday, June 21, 2019 at the Titusville Area Hospital.

                He was born in Titusville on December 12, 1931 to the late Robert Lee and Viola Peebles Turk.

                Gordon served the Lord all of his life.  He was a lay minister with the Hydetown Baptist Church.  Throughout his years with the church, he was of service with the youth group, men’s fellowship, bible study teacher, and funeral services.  He was also a deacon of the church.

                He volunteered with Love, Inc. for many years, and was also a board member with them.  He was a member of the Oil Creek Township Planning Commission, and Pennsylvania Dairymen’s Association.

                Gordon was a dairy farmer by trade.  He was a Christian gentleman, and a true friend to anyone in anytime of need.  He mentored many youth who called “Turk Hillside Farm” their home.

                He is one of eleven children.  Jean Gray, of Debary, FL,  is the last surviving sister to Gordon.  He is also survived by twenty nieces and nephews, thirty-seven great nieces and nephews, and numerous great-great nieces and nephews.

                Gordon was preceded in death by nine brothers and sisters, Kenneth, Glenn, Raymond, Howard, Bruce, Francis, Charles Turk, Lucille Warren, and Shirley Walker.

                A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 26, 2019 at 3 PM at the Hydetown Baptist Church, 12749 Main St., Hydetown, PA 16328.

                Gordon’s family would like to thank the compassionate and skilled staff of the Titusville Area Hospital, and friends, family, and community members who helped him in recent years.
