Obituary of Russell R. Smith

Mr. Russell R. Smith, 81, of Titusville passed away on Tuesday, October 29, 2019, at UPMC Hamot in Erie.

            Mr. Smith was born on October 4, 1938, in Diamond to the late Roy E. and Mattie Armstrong Smith.

            He was a graduate of Townville High School, class of 1958, and a veteran of the US Army from 1961 to 1963.

            Mr. Smith then worked as a buffer for Queen Cutlery from 1964 until the closing of the plant.

            He attended the Titusville Free Methodist Church and was a former member of the Chapmanville Volunteer Fire Department.

            Russell enjoyed the outdoors camping and hunting.

            He is survived by his wife, Shirley Fox Peeples Smith of Titusville, whom he married on April 8, 2006; a daughter, Debra J. McNellie of Tucson, AZ; 2 step-daughters, Teresa Lindsey and husband Larry of Linesville, Lisa Smith of Titusville; 2 step-sons, Brian Peeples and wife Stacy, Jeffrey Peeples and wife Lacey both of Titusville; several grandchildren, step-grandchildren, great grandchildren, and a step-great grandchildren.

            Russell was preceded in death by a brother, Clifford Smith, and a sister, Viola Krepps.

            Private arrangements are being conducted for the family.

            Inurnment will be in Sunville Cemetery.
