Obituary of Robert E Lewis

Mr. Robert E. Lewis, 92, of Meadville, passed away on Thursday, October 31, 2019 at 10:35 PM at Wesbury United Methodist Community.

               Robert was born on January 30, 1927 in East Hickory to the late Elson Ray and Oma Victoria Burnside Lewis. H married Alice Louise Wright Hollabaugh on September 5, 1997.

               Bob attended Townville schools.  He was a veteran having served in the US Navy during World War II. He entered the service on January 29, 1945 in Erie and was honorably discharged on July 19, 1946 in Long Island, NY.

               He worked as a shop foreman for the National Parks Service in the Everglades, retiring in 1973. From 1978 to 1998 he owned and operated Lewis Repair Shop repairing old Volkswagen Beetles.

               Bob was a 50 year member of the Gee Lodge #21 F. & A.M. in Chattahoochee, FL and was a former member of the VFW in Homestead, FL.

               He is survived by his wife of Meadville, two sons, Daniel C. Lewis of  Winter Haven, FL, and Philip E. Lewis and wife Cathy of Roscommon, MI; a step daughter Sandra Hollabaugh of Meadville; a step daughter in law Betty Hollabaugh of Meadville; 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchild; and one brother Donald R. Lewis of Sneads, FL.

               Bob was preceded in death by four brothers, James, Jack, William and Charles Lewis; and two sisters, Doris and Dianna Lewis; and a step son Dale Hollabaugh.

               Services will be private to the family.

               Interment will be at Sunnyside Cemetery.
