Condolences
Ed was a great leader in Titusville for all growing up there. He always had wonderful activities for us. JoEtta and i were in same class together and i have been looking to talk to you Joetta for quite some time. I am sorry you lost your brother but he left wonderful thoughts behind for us all. Please contact me. I am in SC and both hubby and i have medical challenges so we could not attend the memorial for Ed.

Thoughts & prayers are with you Gail & the family. Ed was such a great person & customer. Always had a smile on his face and more than willing to help anyone. He will be missed by so many. May he rest in peace
My memory, adoration, respect, love for Ed is profound. My recollection of this great man goes back to my early childhood. I've read other condolences and they all reflect what an impact this one individual had on so many lives. From the summer arts and crafts for grade schoolers, to TYC-TOC. Ed had an unending devotion to the children, teens, and adults, a friend when in need, kind words always, I and so many others are better people because of Ed. There is good reason the Athletic Fields are named in his honor. He chose nothing for himself, but to make this world, this town, such a great place to live. Remembered with Love. Don Rog
Have read the other condolences that are posted AND I can reiterate what they have said. Ed was a constant father figure to so many of the children, teens and beyond through the years he worked as the Leisure Services Parks Director. His mind was always full of fresh ideas to keep the youth busy during the summer as well as the other three seasons. He loved to have the sixth graders learn to ski. AND he always had Mr Blood as the swim instructor during the summer, beginning at 9 a.m., when the water was cold == MR BLOOD directed us to put our heads in the water!!! Of course, a few of us, decided we didn't want to swim.
MR ED was on the Titusville Alumni Board for several years, still full of ideas as to how we could get more local alumni involved. And the board usually followed through with the his ideas. MR ED's picture and bio is on the Alumni Wall of Fame in the former Colestock High School, which became a part of the high school many years ago. To MR ED -- we have a lot of terrific memories -- pencil behind the ear and yellow tablet in hand == never wasted a piece of paper in his career and beyond. Hydetown can be proud of what MR ED did for the community -- organizing the Hydetown Festival with a group of citizens that saw crowds of people attend each year at Hasbrouck Park, and the many tickets he sold for the fire department fundraisers -- always some in his shirt pocket and people willing to purchase for the cause.
God be with Ed's family as they hold on to the great memories and thank you for sharing your husband - Gail and the family with ALL of us. RIP MR ED.
Ed Myer was a gentleman and the class act of Parks & Recreation! All, in PRPS and the parks and recreation field, respected his warm and genuine demeanor and knowledge! Loved to dance at PRPS conferences and made those individuals he connected with feel important! Will miss his smile and kind words and pray his family finds peace in knowing that he was a special man!! My condolences to his family and pray his retirement years were blessed! Always hoped to be half the man Ed Myer was!
Titusville will never have another!!
God Bless,

I am so sadden to hear of Ed's passing. He was a great mentor and friend to me in the world of Parks & Recreation. We had many long talks at the PRPS conferences over the years. He was always just a phone call away when I needed advice. I valued his friendship and advice. He will be missed. My thoughts and prayers are with his entire family.
Words can not sum up a man"s life but these words could be used for Ed Myer.
Icon, legion, giant, institution all could be used to sum up Ed's life.
I prefer theses, a humble good man that cared deeply.
Ed made Titusville better and a place we can all be proud of. My sole regret is that I didn't get to know Ed longer and better.
Titusville is a lesser place without him.

My granddaughter is competing out of town Saturday so I will miss the tribute. It should be grand for a grand gentleman!
I grew up in Titusville (1952-1965) and then moved to Pittsburgh. During my life in Titusville Ed was a real influencer to me. I was one of the "daily" kids at Burgess Park pool and TicToc activities. He always had a smile and uplifting word to share with the kids. I respect his memory greatly and wanted to share my sincere sympathy on his passing. I know Ed was a Christian and now that he has been fully healed-for that I give thanks. I am certain there is large welcoming of friends and family to greet him there.
