Obituary of Lois A. Sellen
Mrs. Lois A. Sellen, 72, of 853 W. Spring St. Titusville, died peacefully at home Saturday afternoon June 18, 2011 surrounded by her family.Lois was born on August 7, 1938 at Warren, PA, a daughter of the late Harry M. Schweitzer and Dorothy Myers Fox, and stepfather Ed Fox.
She was married to Thomas Ray Sellen on April 6, 1957. He preceded her in death on March 23, 2011 after 54 years of marriage.
Lois was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1955. She had been employed at the Oaks Tavern in Hydetown as a cook for 27 years.
She was a member of the Stoneham Methodist Church; the Colonel Drake Archery Club; the PNA Club; and of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, cooking, knitting, crocheting, gardening, hunting, fishing, yard sales, and bird watching.
Lois is survived by five children; Gary Sellen and wife Holly, Rod Sellen and wife Mary, Darel Sellen and wife Dianna, all of Titusville, Susan Foltz and husband Kenny of Wilmington, NC, and Holly Sterling and companion Shawn of Centerville; grandchildren, Joey Jackson, Charity Brown and husband Joe, Kimberly Kemp, Jesse Sellen, Kaitlyn Sellen, Melissa Gates and husband Dusty, Amber Sellen, Miranda Sellen, Michael Wakefield and companion Tina, Dustin Sellen and wife Stephanie, Devin Sellen and fiancée Stacey, Amanda Sterling, Ashley Sterling, Samantha Bienio, and Jaylynn Davenport; 18 great grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Stephen Tiffany, pastor of the Diamond United Methodist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Triumph Swedish Union Cemetery.
