She was a devoted Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother and sister. Gloria was born in 1935 in Minnesota. She was the middle of three beautiful daughters of Les and Alice.
Gloria was always and artistic and musical. She was very independent but always a gracious mother to her children. Growing up Gloria was always a member of the church choir and she loved to dance, especially ballet. She learned how to fish with her Dad and sisters and was an active young lady.
Gloria Graduated from High School and went on to college where she met many friends. She studied Psychology and graduated from the University of Minnesota where she met her husband John. John and Gloria were married for
13 years and had three children Leslie, Stephen and Thomas.
At the end of the marriage Gloria forged her way into the work force in the 1960's when being a woman in the workforce was a challenge. She worked at Bank Americard (now VISA) in its infancy. She was a Car salesman at Phillip ChevOlds, hotel Sales Manager for the Thunderbird and the Lemington hotels.
She became an expert in business forms and printing and worked many years providing forms to a variety of customers including the Radisson Hotel Chain. Eventually Gloria started her own company and became truly independent.
Gloria performed at the Guthrie Theater in Minneapolis.
Gloria loved her dogs and cats. Gloria enjoyed the church where she sang in many different choirs including St. David’s Church, First Lutheran Church and in later years the Air Force Base choir. Her beautiful voice brought joy to all who heard it. Even in her waning days Gloria could be heard singing throughout the day. Sing Gloria Sing!!
