Obituary of Robert G. Tenney

Mr. Robert G. Tenney, 82, of 514 E. Elm St., Titusville died at 7:50 PM on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at Cambridge Springs Rehabilitation and Nursing Center. Mr. Tenney was born on June 14, 1929 in Erie to the late George and Mae ( Stahl ) Tenney. He married Helen Sibble on December 17, 1965 in Jamestown, NY. He was a graduate of Colestock High School, class of 1947. Mr. Tenney was a former employee for the City of Titusville in the maintenance department for 23 years, and a self-employed construction maintenance man. He was a member of St. Walburga Church. Mr. Tenney enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, woodworking, and growing tomatoes’. He is survived by his wife, Helen Tenney of Titusville; eight children, Scott Tenney and wife Connie, Roger Tenney both of Grand Valley, Elizabeth “Liz” Anderson of GA, Audrey Romaniszyn, Rhonda Taylor and husband Jay both of Titusville, Robin Anthony and husband Carl of Pleasantville, Donald Sibble and wife Gina of San Antonio, TX, Bobbi Sue Messina and husband Bernard of Titusville; three brothers, William Johnson and wife Carol of NC, James Tenney and wife Barb of WV, Teddy Johnson and wife Bridgett of Tionesta; one sister-in-law, Clair Madden of Jamestown, NY; and numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Mr. Tenney was preceded in death by two brothers, Gene Madden and Bill Madden; and two sisters, Loretta Smith and Marjorie Lorenz Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Thursday) from 7 to 9 PM. Further visitation will be on Friday at St. Walburga Church from 10 to 11 AM with a Mass of Christian burial to follow celebrated by Fr. D.G. Davis III, Pastor of the Catholic Community of Titusville, as celebrant. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the Catholic Community of Titusville 510 W. Spring St., Titusville, PA 16354.
