Obituary of Elizabeth Donovan

Mrs. Elizabeth C. “Gramma Betty” Donovan, 87, of 40723 State Hwy 27, Titusville died at 1:00 AM on Wednesday, August 03, 2011 at the Meadville Medical Center. Mrs. Donovan was born April 22, 1924 in Titusville to the late Lawrence J. and Veness Tuck Reynolds. She was a graduate of Titusville High School, class of 1942. Mrs. Donovan was formerly employed at Fleek’s Market in Titusville and at G.C. Murphy’s until the time of her retirement in 1984. She was a former member of St. Walburga Church and later attended St. Titus Church. Gramma Betty was a faithful follower of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren with all their activities. She also loved being a homemaker working in her herb garden, growing vegetables and flowers, and canning. Mrs. Donovan is survived by three children, Loretta M. Dickey and husband Daniel of Espyville, Jerry Donovan and wife Debbie of Titusville, Lorraine “Effie” Kimp of Hamilton, MT; a daughter-in-law, Sandra Donovan of Titusville; seven grandchildren, April Pettit Hollobaugh and husband Joe of Titusville, Shawn Donovan and wife Elizabeth of Spartansburg, Jenny Dickey, Mac Dickey, Brian “BJ” Dickey all of Espyville, Rodney “RJ” Donovan and wife Rebecca of Spartansburg, Amber Donovan and companion Jim Tudor of Titusville; nine great grandchildren, Zachary, Isaac, Seth and Ehren Donovan, Ashley Pettit, Colyn and Hannah Donovan, Trae and Ean Tudor; and a sister, Margaret “Peg” MacQuarrie of Tidioute. She was preceded in death by her son, Joseph E. Donovan and her former husband Charles J. Donovan. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home 303 N. Washington St., Titusville on Friday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the service from the funeral home on Saturday at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jerry Alsdorf, officiating. Interment will be in Union Cemetery. FLOWERS
