Obituary of Lois J Wetherbee

Mrs. Lois J. Wetherbee, 86, of Riceville, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Marquette Hospice House.

               Lois was born on May 27, 1934 in Bloomfield Twp. to the late Victor V. and Isabell H. Waltonbaugh VanTassel Sr. She married Vernon Craig Wetherbee on February 24, 1955. He preceded her in death in August of 1993.

               She was a graduate of Bloomfield High School.

               Lois worked at Mercer Spring and Wire for many years until her retirement.

               She was a member of the Riceville United Methodist Church.

               Lois enjoyed crocheting, sewing, working in her flower garden, and cooking. She loved her family dearly and enjoyed spending time sharing meals and talking on the phone with them.

               She is survived by her daughter, Valeria Petrisko of Ft. Wayne, IN; two sons, Randal Wetherbee of Genoa, CO, and Kevin Wetherbee and wife Patricia of Guys Mills; six grandchildren, Melissa Fowler, Amie Arizmendi and husband Isidro, Margaret Wiley and husband Jonathan all of Ft. Wayne, IN, Andrea Britton and husband Richard of Pueblo West, CO, Jordan Anderson and husband Joe of Titusville, Tyler Wetherbee and Kylie Taylor of Danville, PA; 11 great grandchildren, Isabell, David, Matthias, Andres, Ariana, Moriah, Sarenity, Mellody, Stephanie, Kaelynn, and Lucas; four sisters, Edna Beckwith of Corry, Pa., Carol Keppel of Union City, Pa., Linda Hamm of Daytona Beach, Fl., and Joy Lubbert and her husband John of Union City, Pa.; and a brother, Gary VanTassel and his wife Betsy of Lincolnville, Pa.; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by a son in law, Stephen Richard Petrisko; six brothers Gerald, Stanley, George, Howard, Wilford, and Victor VanTassel and a sister, Gladys Kuhns.

Services will be private to the family. A memorial service for Lois will be held at a later date.

Interment will be at Riceville Cemetery.
