Obituary of Virginia C Rhoades

Mrs. Virginia C. “Ginny” Rhoades, 99, of Titusville, passed away on Thursday, January 14, 2021 at the Titusville Healthcare and Rehab Center.

               Ginny was born on December 29, 1921 in Oil City to the late Raymond “Rainey” A. and Bertha E. (Wygant) Brown.  She married Raymond C. Rhoades on December 3, 1937. He preceded her in death on November 15, 2006.

               She attended Oil City schools.

               Ginny was a homemaker, and enjoyed crocheting, playing cards, bingo, bowling, and being with her family and friends.

               She is survived by her two children, Richard C. Rhoades and wife Sally of Clearwater, FL, and Vivian M. Brennand and husband George of Clearwater, FL; five grandchildren; Pamela S. Brown of Kittanning, Brenda Weismiller, and husband Ron of Erie, Theresa Galletta of West Mifflin, Robert Rhoades and wife Kathy of Plant City, FL, David Rhoades of Newport Ritchie, FL; nine great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother in law Charles D. Rhoades of Franklin, and serveral nieces and nephews.

               She was preceded in death by the following brothers and sisters; Edna Sheats, Victor Brown, Raymond Brown, Merle Brown, Maxine Detrie and Opal Brown.

               A private family viewing will be held at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home Inc. 303 N. Washington St.

               Interment will be at East Troy Cemetery.

               Memorial contributions can be made to a charity of one’s choice.
