Obituary of Pauline Vivian Grable
Mrs. Pauline Vivian Grable, 92, formerly of Centerville, died at 5:35 AM Sunday, August 16, 2009 at the Oil City Presbyterian Home where she had been a resident since April of 2006.
Mrs. Grable was born on Dec. 11, 1916 at Providence, RI, a daughter of the late William and Anna Reedinauer Foltz. She was married to William M. Grable on Aug. 10, 1945 in Dearborn, MI. He preceded her in death on Oct. 10, 1991.
Mrs. Grable was a graduate of the Etna High School. She had been employed as an operator at North Pittsburgh Telephone Company for many years until her retirement.
She was a member of the Centerville Baptist Church and of the Centerville Women’s Club. She enjoyed wildlife, pets, playing cards and watching baseball and hockey.
She is survived by a son, Keith L. Grable and his wife Donna of Rochester, PA; three grandchildren, Wes Grable, Lance Grable and Leslie Ann Bembnowski; five great grandchildren; two brothers, Walter Foltz and his wife Alice, and Donald Foltz and his wife Pat, all of Centerville; a sister, Ruth Beck and her husband Clay of Albuqurque, NM; three sisters-in-law, Dori Foltz of Mt. Airy, NC, Lorraine Foltz of Meadville, and Sandy Foltz of Union City; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Warren, Robert and Daniel Foltz; and two sisters, Charlotte Donor and Naomi Sexton.
Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Tuesday from 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Wednesday at 11:00 AM with Rev. David Leninsky, pastor of the Centerville Baptist Church, officiating.
Interment will be in Sunnyside Cemetery.
The family asks that memorials be made to the Centerville Volunteer Fire Department.
