Obituary of Betty L. Sines

Mrs. Betty L. Sines, 87, of 404 E. Spruce St. Titusville, died Tuesday morning August 9, 2011 at the Titusville Area Hospital.Mrs. Sines was born on April 10, 1924 in Titusville, a daughter of the late Fred and Gladys Birtciel Holtz. She was married to Dale C. “Bud” Sines on June 30, 1942 at the Pleasantville Presbyterian Church. He preceded her in death on July 11, 1996. Mrs. Sines was a graduate of the Pleasantville High School, class of 1941. Betty had attended the Titusville Free Methodist Church. She enjoyed yard work, gardening, and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren. She also enjoyed baking her favorite crescent rolls for special occasions. She is survived by four sons, Carlton D. Sines and his wife Nancy, and James W. Sines, all of Titusville, Ronald Sines and his wife Christine of Geneva, Illinois, and Ed Sines and his wife Mary of Traverse City, Michigan; 10 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; a brother, Paul Holtz and his wife Alice of Fairfax, VA; numerous nieces and nephews; and a dear friend, Pauline Loker of Titusville. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter-in-law, Suzanne Sines; twin sisters, Florene Myers and Florence Jones; and two brothers, James and Richard Holtz. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Wednesday) from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Timothy Maybray, pastor of the Titusville Free Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Fairview Cemetery in Pleasantville. The family asks that memorials be made to the American Heart Association 5455 N.
