No matter how long and well lived a life has been the loss is so sad. I remember how her sweet smile welcomed us to the high school cafeteria and her comforting, calm nature. You were so fortunate to have had her for so long.

One day as we were getting ready to walk to church, Grandma was patting her pockets and said, “do I have everything?” I immediately rattled off her church checklist: “Cane, cough drop, tissue, and envelope?” She gave me an amused look and said something along the lines of you know me pretty well. To which I replied that we had been church buddies for a long time! I will cherish all the Saturday nights and Sunday mornings spent together talking, cooking, watching Wheel of Fortune or Keeping Up Appearances, and walking to church. Love always, Julia
