Condolences
Mary will be deeply missed. She was a true friend and I always looked forward to our conversations and her wit at Coal Oil Johny's.

I was heartbroken to hear of Mary's passing. She touched so many lives with her warmth and acceptance. My husband, Andy, never forgot her visits to him when he was young and in need of comfort, at the Cleveland Clinic. In these final years that my stepdaughter lived next to her, we often saw her during her outdoor activities, stopping us to chat and letting my grandson know that he could play in her backyard at anytime, or even to make him feel useful in helping her out with little chores...she was always so kind to my whole family. She will be dearly missed!
My favorite aunt, my surrogate big sister, my friend . . . You enriched so many lives with your love, kindness, and laughter. You were God's gift to so many, and while we will miss your presence here, we know your spirit will always be with us.
Heartbroken to learn of Mary's tragic death. "Friends are the family you choose" and Mary was part of our family for as long as I can remember. She was dearly loved by my mother Julie Ann Ellsworth and grandmother Dortha Rowe. Mary was beautiful, smart, funny, grounded in her opinions and extremely independent. She cherished her daughter Ava most of all. I am comforted Mary is in her heavenly home surrounded by family and friends. RIP Dear Mary.
With Deep Sympathy,
Julie Ellsworth Cox

Kathy ~
I am so sorry to hear of the loss of your Mom. I have many fond memories working with Mary at Pitt, and I always looked forward to her and “her Billy” coming into the restaurant every Saturday night. We would always pull her one beer out that afternoon so it was room temperature (as she preferred).
I saw Mary and Bill last summer at the grocery store. She got the biggest smile on her face and gave me a hug. That was your Mom ~ such a bright light. She will be missed.

Kathy,
Words cannot express my heartache. It’s my hope that the coming days with family and friends in remembrance of your Mom will bring you some peace. My memories of Mary are inspiring. She was a strong independent widowed mother who made it work! She was educated, talented & funny. She strived to not only raise her daughter To be a strong independent woman like herself but helped shape others in her community in a positive way. It was obvious to me even in high school how proud she was of you and the young woman you were growing into. Roll models like our moms made us the women we are today and I am thankful to have known her. Love you girl, Gretta Beck
When, I was 18 Aunt Mary let me live with her to get a start in life. Her smile laughter and love for people was contagious....I have enjoyed recently talking with her and going down memory lane...will love and miss you.
