Obituary of George G. McCammon

Mr. George G. McCammon, Sr., 66, of 1011 Brown Ave. Erie, died Sunday July 5, 2009. Mr. McCammon was born on July 3, 1943 at Titusville, PA, a son of the late Joe Hunt and Mary McCammon. He was previously married to Shirley Moore of Titusville, Ruth Hathaway of Centerville, and Sylvia Small of Donovan, MO. Mr. McCammon was a veteran having served in the US Army. He had been employed most of his working career as an independent truck driver. He was a member of the VFW and American Legion in Erie. He enjoyed the outdoors, hunting, fishing, and repairing electronics. Mr. McCammon is survived by the following children; Archie McCammon of Erie, George McCammon, Jr. and wife Mary of North Carolina, Kelly McCammon of Erie, Doneddy McCammon of Virginia, Loretta Murphy and husband Jason, and Leroy McCammon, all of Centerville, Tammy Wiles and Rosemary McCammon, both of Erie; 13 grandchildren; and 4 great grandchildren. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home on Thursday from noon to 2:00 PM at which time the funeral service will be conducted with Rev. Stephen Tiffany, pastor of the Diamond Evangelical United Methodist Church, officiating. Interment will be in Cheney Cemetery.
