Obituary of Eleanor L. Bloom

Mrs. Eleanor L. Bloom, 90, formerly of 522 N. Franklin St. Titusville, died Tuesday, September 06, 2011 at the Titusville Area Hospital.Mrs. Bloom had lived with her daughter and son-in-law, Carol and Tom, for the past five years until she became a resident at the Golden Living Center in Titusville. Mrs. Bloom was born on April 9, 1921 at Union City, PA. She was married to Frederick L. Bloom, Sr. on April 25, 1942 at Meadville, PA. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2006. Mrs. Bloom had worked for many years at the former E.K. Thompson Drug Store and also at the former Lee Casual Dress Shop. She was a life member of the American Legion Ladies Auxillary and of the VFW Ladies Auxillary. She enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren. She was a devoted wife and enjoyed baking and cooking. Mrs. Bloom is survived by four children, Fred L. Bloom, Jr. and wife Joyce, Carol Weaver and husband Tom, and Charlotte Cherry and husband Craig, all of Titusville, and Tom Bloom and companion David of Snyder, NY; 8 grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchilden; a sister-in-law, Shirley Bloom of Boardman, OH; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Doug Vroman. Friends may call at the Gordon B. Garrett Funeral Home today (Wednesday) from 6 to 9 PM and attend the funeral service there on Thursday at 11:00 AM with Rev. Shawn Jacobson, pastor of the Pleasantville Community Church, officiating. Interment will be in Woodlawn Cemetery. The family asks that memorials be made to Hospice of Crawford County 310 N. Monroe St. Titusville, PA 16354; or to the Cleo J. Ross Post No. 368 American Legion.
